Playing in the Rain

We’ve had too much rain! Look at the parking lot above. It’s a pond. I’ve been feeling rather blue these past two days because a close friend has moved out of state. The cold, wet weather hasn’t been helping. I decided to go out and walk despite the perceived gloom, and actually was feeling like I deserved a medal for being so motivated. I learned that not everyone shares my view:

Two little boys were playing and running at Ferry Beach. One even had a water gun. I think the parents were watching them from inside a dry car.

However no one was playing golf at the Prouts Neck Country Club course.

Still loads of lilacs in bloom!

I could hear red winged blackbirds at Massacre Pond at Scarborough Beach.

You can’t tell from this view but there are about a dozen tiny black dots–all surfers.

It was invigorating to see people enjoying the rain and wind today. The sky’s moody cloud formations mirrored how I was feeling before I left my house. The fresh misty air, fragrant flowers, scent of wet earth and sea soothed me. Higgins Beach has been curing what ails me since 1994.
