St. Anthony’s Franciscan Monastery, Kennebunk

It was in early February when Wayne and I last visited St. Anthony’s Franciscan monastery in Kennebunk. If you click the link you’ll see that although it was below freezing temps, windy and under feet of snow, it was a still and quiet beauty. Now everything is green, the trails are open and all are welcome to enjoy them.

How completely disrespectful! Not just using their scared ground as a place to drink, but to trash it makes me sad and angry. I hope that this isn’t a usual occurrence. I’m happy to report that other than this one spot the grounds were unmarred.

Some very trusting ducks swam over and walked up to us expecting something. I felt bad that we didn’t have any bread or duck treats for them. Next time!

A rhododendron bonanza! We must return next spring when they are in bloom!

  1. Your photos are absolutely stunning! Yes, I spotted the butterfly. ๐Ÿ™‚ St. Michael’s prayer is a Catholic prayer, too. I assume this is an Episcopal monastery?
