Seaside Soirée at the Nonantum Resort, Kennebunkport

Last night Wayne and I were treated to a delicious and decadent dinner at The Nonantum Resort in Kennebunkport. It was a special private party for Yelp Elites (of which I am one) and our guests. So really, I took Wayne out on a date!

After we were served hors d’oeuvres and received a tour of the resort, we sat down for a wonderful dinner.

Everything was flavorful and prepared to perfection. The halibut was the best I’ve ever had. We’re not used to being out past our bedtime of before 9:00 p.m., ha! We didn’t get home until around 10:30. It was so worth it, and because we enjoyed it so much we plan to have breakfast there Sunday after church services at St. Ann’s.

(On a side note, it turns out that Wayne and the Innkeeper, Jean, know each other from when Wayne was the co-owner of a very popular Portland restaurant, Carburs, in the 1980s-90s. It was a lot of fun to hear them reminisce about the unique sandwiches he created that were very popular. I’m hoping he’ll do a guest blog post at some point since he has some fun mementos and memories to share. There seems to be a lot of local nostalgia for Carburs. He’s a Portland sandwich celebrity, I think!)

    1. That’s a good way to put it. 😀 Thank you for taking the time to read some of my reviews! And you’re right about the Nonantum. It’s yet another place that’s been here all along but that I’m only now just discovering that I’m happy to share virtually. 🙂
