I found some great treasures at a rummage sale Saturday morning, had a wonderful surprise for Mother’s Day and enjoyed a beautiful day with Wayne and the “kids.”
Early this morning I headed over to Falmouth for my first estate sale of the season. It’s been hard for me because this is the time of year when I would normally been in regular contact with my late friend, Margaret. Instead of calling her cell from my car I finally deleted her number. The finality of it all is sad. However, I know she would want me to enjoy my adventures while out picking, so here we go!
I was first in line today, and my shadow shows the silhouette of my canvas tote that I brought in anticipation of filling with a few goodies. This is a very big annual event with a gigantic “White Elephant” sale that begins at 8:00 a.m. and a half-day long auction of furniture, antiques, boats, cars, and whatever other donations they received. Today while out picking I bought an old wood chest made from beadboard that works perfectly for storing gardening things in our sunroom. I love the weathered, rustic look with faded green paint. We’re getting a spring Nor’easter tomorrow?! However, this morning was partly sunny and perfect for junkin’ as some of us like to call it. I went to a few yard sales and scored Bob Dylan, Neil Young, Jimi Hendrix and Lou Reed on vintage vinyl for $4 total.
